About our Home Elevators & Stairlifts in California

At ACME Home Elevator, we appreciate great craftsmanship as well as the importance of safety, reliability and excellent value. We are here for our customers from the first call and after installation. We don’t forget our customers after the job is carried out. It’s just our way.
Although others may claim to have been in our industry longer, not many have been providing Home Elevators and Lifts as long as we have.
ACME Home Elevator was founded in 1987 by Terry Pope. Terry had worked in the commercial elevator industry for over 17 years at that time and recognized the growing need for a quality company to provide stair lifts and home elevators.
Terry has contributed greatly to the Home Elevator and Accessibility industry:
- He currently sits on the ASME A17.1 committee for Private Residence Elevators.
- He was a founding member of the ASME A18.1 committee for Stairway Lifts and Platform Lifts.
- He is a former member of the ASME A18.1 committee and ASME A17.1 committee for Inclined Elevators.
- He was a member of the group that developed the California Title 8 code covering Article 15 Access lifts.
- He was a member of the group that developed Certified Accessibility and Residential
Technician, (CAT) training program for the National Association of Elevator Contractors (NAEC).
The CAT program is designed to add a minimum level of knowledge for technicians and trainers in our industry
This commitment to precision and quality is instilled throughout our company and in every person at ACME. Many of us have been here for over ten years.
ACME is also a family business. Terry founded the company and his wife, Nancy, soon joined afterwards. Their three children have all worked here. Today their son, Wes, is a proud father himself and the President of ACME Home Elevator, Inc.
Today, we serve all of California through our offices in Fairfield and Garden Grove.
